Later, in 1992, it was added to Project Tiger. Today, the animals are kept safe in Pench National Park using anti-poaching patrols, better habitats, and strict forest protection.
The Flora and fauna of Pench National Park are very rich and diverse. The forest mainly has dry deciduous vegetation. Teak trees are the most common trees found here. Along with teak, bamboo, mahua, tendu, saja, and other native trees grow naturally in the forest. These trees provide food, shade, and shelter to animals. The forest floor has grasses, herbs, and shrubs that support herbivores like deer and gaur. Medicinal plants are also found in some areas.

Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport is a convenient option for many visitors, especially those travelling to the Turia and Maharashtra-side areas. Jabalpur Airport is another option for visitors approaching from Madhya Pradesh. After landing, arrange a taxi or pre-booked transfer to the exact safari gate or resort. Check the route for your gate rather than using one distance for all of Pench.
Nagpur and Jabalpur are useful railheads for reaching Pench. Chhindwara may be convenient for some itineraries, particularly those approaching Jamtara. Train routes and stop patterns vary by departure city and date, so check the current timetable on IRCTC. From the station, pre-arrange a cab or confirm local transport to your accommodation and safari gate. Do not book a train solely on the basis of a generic “nearest station” claim.
